Preschool
Preschool is a place where young children come to learn through play. They play through relationships with other children in the class. They playfully explore their surroundings using all of their senses. The early childhood educators have an important role to guide, nurture, and nudge children in their play and to direct them towards learning about God, His word, His people, and His magnificent world.
Many of the Christian schools within SCSBC have the privilege of partnering with parents and families of young children through their Christian preschool. The SCSBC provides support to these schools, and to schools considering implementing a preschool. A handbook outlining the steps to setup a preschool is available for member schools at no cost. An eBulletin is issued regularly to administrators and preschool directors. This eBulletin provides up-to-date information about government changes to licensing regulations, professional development opportunities, and helpful resources.
A preschool focus group for preschool teachers and assistants is held at least once a year. This is an opportunity for networking and sharing ideas.
