Why a Program Review?
Regular review of your Christian school's current educational programs is an essential part of strengthening your vision and enabling your school to provide a dynamic learning community for your students and staff.
A program review:
- affirms your current program's area of strength and success.
- provides a platform to strengthen the content, methodology, assessment, and resources of a program.
- brings your staff together in professional dialogue to pursue ongoing professional development.
- accentuates your parental involvement and commitment to your school's direction.
- results in more dynamic and effectual learning for your students.
With a comprehensive, unbiased assessment from a SCSBC Program Review Team, your school can benefit from a program review.
Who is Involved?
A school-based team is appointed by your Principal/Admin Team and may consist of an Admin Team liaison, teachers, and parents.
Your school-based team works in collaboration with an external SCSBC Program Review Team (PRT).
The PRT, led by one of the SCSBC Directors of Learning, includes seconded Christian school teachers with expertise and experience in the program area under review.
When Can You Book a Review?
- Anytime - call or send request to SCSBC!
- As determined by your school's program review policy time-line. (Some SCSBC schools have developed a program review policy to assess and strengthen their current educational programs using a five-to-seven year cycle.)
Note: Actual review is dependent upon the number of annual requests.
What Happens in a Review?
The school-based team distributes questionnaires and surveys to students, parents, and staff. It then compiles the data for the PRT.
During the on-site visit, the PRT takes a second look at the program by reviewing the data, meeting the staff, visiting classrooms, and looking for trends.
The PRT presents its findings in a report to the Admin Team.
