Mission & Purpose
The Society of Christian Schools in BC is an organization of Christian school communities sharing the biblical vision that affirms the creating, sustaining and redeeming activity of the Triune God in the individual, in the community and in all creation.
Our purpose is to strengthen and promote Christian education by serving, supporting and encouraging our members and others in this endeavour.
Our goals are:
- to encourage and shape Christian education that extends from a biblical frameworks by designing Christian curriculum that is enhanced by a diversity of approaches.
- to encourage and develop creative and reflective leadership for the purpose of cultivating biblical understanding and values within individual Christian school communities.
- to promote biblical justice in educational choice and to protect the freedom necessary to implement that choice.
- to promote the support of Christian education through biblical stewardship and the discerning use of appropriate financial tools.
- to encourage a biblical sense of community within and among schools and to assist in the channelling of community action and awareness.
- to promote Christian education and the work of the Society of Christian Schools in BC.
- to provide, when possible, assistance to help schools or systems function effectively.
